• Adam and Steven’s first business together was importing stone for kitchens, they found there was so much inflexibility when it came to overheads and there were so many business headaches. They decided that business shouldn’t have to cause this.
• When going into property you should still have some kind of other income, there is a lag between investing in property and getting a return. It could take a year to see anything back and you still need to live while you’re doing it.
• The most important thing Adam and Steven have learned from owning businesses is that you need to know your exit plan before you start.
• The pair's biggest mistake was not pushing themselves into property when they could have done and not selling the kitchen business at the most efficient time.
• When you set up a business, spend more time than you think you should on setting up the CRM systems for where you want the business to be when you grow. If you leave inefficiencies then you will lose out.
